FURNITURE DESIGNER – JONATHAN ADLER HQ


We are looking for a versatile Furniture Designer to work with the Design Director and Jonathan Adler on new developments and full extensions of the Jonathan Adler furniture and upholstery lines.  This position will offer the opportunity to design and develop a wide range of furniture so a base knowledge of materials, finishes, and basic construction and assembly is a must.

We work under fast paced timelines and are looking for someone with strong program skills, furniture design experience, an eye for detail and a good work ethic to bring creativity and life to new extensions of the Jonathan Adler brand.

Qualifications:

•  Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Furniture Design or related design field
•  3 years industry experience minimum in Furniture design required
•  Experience in working with overseas vendors and sources for Product Development is required
•  Historical Reference and knowledge base for Interior and Furniture Design
•  Proficiency and working experiency in AutoCAD (or relevant drafting/rendering program)
•  Proficiency and working experience in the Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
•  Hand Drawing Skills are a huge plus
•  Strong Ability to express ideas through design
•  Outstanding Communication Skills both written and verbal

ECOMMERCE MERCHANDISER– JONATHAN ADLER HQ
 
Primary Responsibilities:

•  Develop and implement online merchandising processes & procedures
•  Lead the development of online merchandising planning and execution based on online merchandise strategies and branding objectives
•  Conceptualize, implement online merchandising themes, promotional strategies, merchandise assortments and product presentations
•  Report and analyze on product, promotion, email marketing campaigns
•  Ensure consistency with other brand channels and overall cohesiveness across channels
•  Make product offering recommendations
•  Execute seasonal trends, product assortment and category build-out, key item positioning, and email plan for E-Commerce business to maximize sales and profit.
 
Requirements:

•  BA/BS or greater
•  Minimum 3 years of previous e-commerce merchandising experience
•  Passion for merchandising and a history of articulating a clear point of view
•  Previous experience with e-commerce content management systems
•  Ability to lead on multiple projects with tight deadlines
•  Ability to be flexible in a dynamic business environment
•  Collaborative, team-oriented person. This role requires daily collaboration with partners in Marketing, Creative and Planning departments to position key themes, offers & promotions

CERAMIC STUDIO INTERN – JONATHAN ADLER HQ

Unique opportunity to work hands on in the Jonathan Adler Pottery Studio, experience the process of creating original prototypes from beginning to end.

Requirements:

•  Basic knowledge of hand building, ceramics, sculpting
•  Experience in mold making -preferably ceramic and resin casting
•  Attention to detail and organizational skills

PRODUCT DESIGN INTERN (Hard/Soft Home) – JONATHAN ADLER HQ

Salary -  unpaid/for school credit
Type of Job -  Internship
Job Location - New York, New York

We are seeking talented textile/surface design students with graphic design capabilities. This intern would work hand in hand with the Jonathan Adler design team on a variety of products focusing on graphic design & pattern as it relates to packaging, soft home and hard home goods. We love interns who are familiar with our brand, have strong Illustrator skills, and a go-get-em attitude who can execute individual projects.

Computer Skills required- Strong Knowledge of Illustrator. Working knowledge: InDesign & Photoshop.
This internship will consist of the following responsibilities- Assist design team with development of patterned ceramic products, packaging & all soft home products. This internship focuses on helping to maintain reference library / product development materials, learning how to spec these products, assemble cohesive design presentations & communicate sample comments to vendors overseas. We look for interns who have a strong color sense, a modern design aesthetic, are comfortable creating swatches in Illustrator, working with fonts & drawing in Illustrator.

WHOLESALE INTERN – JONATHAN ADLER HQ

Salary -  unpaid/for school credit
Type of Job -  Internship
Job Location - New York, New York

Assist sales team in all aspects of daily functions including, order management, international shipment logistics, sample management, market preparations, showroom maintenance, research projects, and general administrative support.  Must be detailed oriented, efficient, and able to prioritize multiple responsibilities and projects.

Proficiency in Microsoft EXCEL required.

Previous office experience strongly preferred.
